A message from our CEO.
What a week, what a month!
Last week I met our new Garden Team Leader, Cass. WELCOME!
Cass has experience in horticulture, teaching, permaculture, and business and will be a wonderful asset to the village program.
Cass was also on site when we met our Permaculture Designer, Justin Calverley. Justin will provide the overall landscape design for the Village site, with input from Cass.
The hope is to get work on the gardens started soon, so as to have some plantings done to welcome the new residents. How great to have ready to harvest veggies for the first residents. Keep an eye on the TVW Facebook page for more news on this program and a call for volunteers.
The next meeting was with the electrician to start the solar and electricity design for the whole Village. A lot of work to be done – it’s staggering how much is involved, but I feel Andrew Klooster is the person for the job.
TVW farewelled Sue Gold and Tammy Atkins from It’s On Purpose last Tuesday night. Sue and Tammy have been working mightily in the background to produce the framework for TVW to change from a Committee of Management to an Executive Board structure. Their work is gratefully acknowledged and TVW would recommend this team for any group wanting to develop their governance status. I add my personal thanks for their support over the past years from the infancy of the TVW project until now in its nearly complete, mature form.
TVW needs to appoint a small subcommittee to oversee the process of change, so if you are interested in bringing your governance skills to the group, please contact me at ceo@tvw.org.aufor more information.
New volunteer positions with TVW.
TVW runs on volunteers who believe in helping people in our community who are experiencing very tough times. We are always looking for people to assist, in particular, this month we are searching for an Events Manager and a Volunteer Coordinator. Email me at ceo@tvw.org.au for information on either position. There will be information on our Facebook site very soon.
