WHAT IS RUOSP?
RUOSP is rethinking how to use the waste generated from op shops, to prevent it going to landfill.
In landfill it is lost to the economy, is wasteful of earth resources and does harm by creating greenhouse gases which are creating climate change and cost the op shop in dumping fees.
Over 12 months we will work to create a micro business as our social enterprise all profits will support accomodating the homeless.

VOLUNTEER ROLES AVAILABLE
RECYCLING
Within the shop: use of fabrics, e.g. scarves, T-shirt ‘Bags’ for wrapping
Menders Group
Refresh items usually considered unusable by traditional op shops e.g. mending hems, sewing buttons etc.
Makers Group
Create items from otherwise wasted goods e.g. mixed fabrics into hand braided rugs.
ADMIN TEAM
Management, team leaders for groups, training for retail
