Welcome
Based in Wallan, a semi-rural town on the urban fringe north of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Transition Village Wallan is a local non-profit organisation working towards whole community change to support a safe, sustainable and connected way of life for all members of our community.
Transition Village Wallan is embarking on a project to build an accomodation village utilising sustainable living and design practices, for people experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness in and around Wallan.

LAND ACQUISITION
We hold a 10 year lease on a Vicroads site in Wallan East. The site has views to the nearby hills and countryside and it is within walking distance of the train and bus station linking Wallan to metro Melbourne and local towns.
PLAN AND DESIGN
We are finalizing the Village design and supporting documents for inclusion in the Planning Permit Application which will be lodged with Mitchell Shire Council in January 2022. We are also talking with companies with a view to selecting one as our building supplier.
BUILD the village
TVW will use pre-fabricated buildings in the Village. We will still have a great variety of volunteer roles from admin to garden so please reach out if you can assist.
